The Influentials
How We Did It
The process of zeroing in on the Top 50 Influentials starts with a panel of eight editors whittling down a shortlist of 200 to 150, then 100, through intense debates lasting weeks. After this, the panel, chaired by DNAs executive editor, arrives at the final 50 through several rounds of voting and elimination. The method is brutal and cut-throat. But what results is not a paean to individualism, rather a realisation of the philosophy that individuals can and do make a difference.
